Photo: 5 LCA formation flight


Five Tejas Aircraft (Light Combat Aircraft) led by Air Cmde Rohit Varma, VM, Project Director (Flight Test), National Flight Test Centre – Aeronautical Development Agency  carried out a flypast at Bangalore Airport (HAL) today (February 6, 2009) prelude towards the Aero India Inauguration  Ceremony to be held on February 11, 2009. The mission, flown by all test pilots of the National Flight Test Centre, combined flight test profiles for the individual Tejas aircraft with a coordinated rehearsal for the Aero India fly-past.

It is a wonderful sight indeed! Hope ADA, HAL and all those dedicated people involved will put in extra effort to make the LCA a potent fighter feared by India's enemies.

Great picture work....... they are flying too close to ground....... I'm waiting to see the LCA fly past in Aero India'09.. I also expect some Maneuvers from LCA.........

Tejaswy you are wrong there . they are PV-1/2/3 and LSP-1/2

@ Tejasway: There are 7 prototypes(TD-1,TD-2, PV-1,PV-2,PV-3, LSP-1, LSP-2) of Tejas in flyable condition.

So two are missing the show. The photo shooter could also be a LCA if PV-5 is flying.

I can id out the a/c as : TD1,TD2,LSP-1 and PV-2 ....the identity of the fifth one is pretty confusing.
