Hi, Everyone
Amur-1650 submarine is designed for carrying Brahmos class missiles and it could be a replica for India's next SSBN class submarine after Arihant-class induction.

The next line of 6 diesel submarine can be Amur-1650 (Russian)or S1000 SSK class (Italian). If Amur1650 win this contract I believe that Indian navy should go for at least 8 submarine and purchase directly from Russia.

Shiv, I want to know more about S-80 or S1000 SSK class submarine and what is different between S1000 and U-214, which is better for Indian navy.

Amur-1650 isn't designed to carry any vertical launched missiles. You probably thinking about Amur-950. Look here: http://www.ckb-rubin.ru/eng/project/submarine/noatompl/index.htm

Your article is very informative and nice.

I learnt that DRDO is due to change of guard. Next chief is more likely to be a sr scientist who is already under extension. I request you to provide more info. on this and underlying politics. Your earlier artices on tussles in DRDO to management was very informative.
