Future basic jet trainer of India ?
Unlikely to be a basic trainer. It can easily seat 4-5 people and its designed to FAR 23 "Normal" category. a basic trainer has to be designed and certified to FAR 23 "Aerobatic" category and the IAF will want more avionics, ejection seat, tandem seating etc.
The indian cirrus...
If this plane is produced this will pose a serious challange to Taneja Aerospace which assembles cessnas in Bangalore.Hopefully this produce will be more cheaper and will revolutionize flying within India.
why an unusual location of horizontal tail?
In the era of oil surge, it is not prudent to have a sustainable operation on AVGAS engines (IO 540 Lycoming). As the AVGAS supply all over india is scarce. Mahindra should put up a turboprop engine on its aircraft.
