Extended Range Sudarshan LGB Kit On

The development of the kit has matured to the level of guiding the bomb within 10 m CEP from its otherwise 400 m to 1000 m fall-off the target. The extension of kit’s capability to further increase its range using global positioning system (GPS) INS is on.

400 to 1000m ? Serious misinformation here. ? Last I heard IAF unguided CEPs were hovering around the 40m mark.

I think this was made with Ratheon technology (used in vietnam war) that was given by it to OFB. Since this is of older technology, its ability to glide would be less when compared to its contemporaries and also its weight must be higher.

But irrespective of this, total indigenous approach would have resulted in even more development time. It would be better to build upon something older than making totally by yourself.

Hi Shiv,
I read in the New Indian Express that BAE systems have been fined for supplying defective components for the Hawk AJT. Please could you provide us with more details.

I wonder if this bomb kit uses any 'import substitution' like the South African fuses for BEL munitions.
