AERO INDIA: India's BVRAAM Astra++?

Better than (and quite different from) the clunky model they displayed two years ago on a Su-30. Astra++?

Gotta say... that does not look as maneuverable as the RVV-AE.

Hey shiv - how come Headlines Today - which sends reporters to cover Yediyurappa shedding crocodile tears cannot send a team to Aero India to do a report on the brilliant flying displays?

Airframe wise ASTRA MK-2 looks like an entirely new missile. Mk-1 was more like MICA, this one is more like a cross between AIM-120 and DERBY. However nose cone of ASTRA MK-2 is unique.

looks like it is optimized for internal carriage for both FGFA & AMCA...

This is most probably 100km+ Astra-2 that Dr.Gollokota alluded to in his talk in the seminar.
