Yes. That was the biggest surprise of the parade. Why have it in the parade but not in the armed forces ? Any idea, why ?
Why is India shy of the home-grown products? It looks majestic and beefy! Let it loose on the Paki tank and earn its laurel.
What,no sloping armour. That flat turret front just invites an anti tank missile.I reminds me of the German wwii Tiger, just one massive target. After years of development I would have expected something better.
Simply awesome! The Army needs to take on more of these....atleast 500. Time has come to go for the 'Made in India' mal
anonymous 9.07 sloped armour is for deflection of rounds to the top. the turret has angles to deflect rounds to the sides. Overall the tank looks like a beast.
Sloped armour deflects shots but reduces internal space and also can actually be heavier because of the greater area due to slope. One pays ones money and takes one's choice. The Arjun ,for the correct doctrine is gorgeous.Incidenatlly, Sir,the KPz.W. VI Tiger was -in the defensive role the terror of all tank crews.A single Tiger, could and often did, take on an entire squadron of Shermans without any embarrassment.
Most of the modern European tanks dont have sloppping armour.MkII Arjun does have slopping modular Armour. Development of any weapon is like evolution, survival of fittest through trial and error .Give DRDO credit for making a world class tank. They will surely improve upon it with time.
