Decks Cleared For Indian Truck-Mounted 155mm Gun Competition

The Indian MoD's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), the first chaired by new defence minister Manohar Parrikar, today cleared the Indian Army's proposal to tender for 814 mounted gun systems (MGS), a deal that could be worth $2 billion. Known contenders are Tata SED with its 155mm Tata-truck mounted gun system and the L&T-Ashok Leyland-Nexter 155mm CEASAR gun mounted on an Indian-built Super Stallion 6x6 chassis (photo). More details soon.

We must buy Indian ones any problems can be ironed out later. In any case even foreign one are also not without some technical problems. I have seen them correcting them during guarantee and warranty period

Boys and Girls ,

This is all 'Ullu Banoing" . Our forces since last couple of decades have been sandwiched between traitors and traders . Even today we are issuing tenders , rfp's etc as if the forces are so dumb that only the t&t above can decide what they want. The new def. min. complains about lobbying - who are these people and why cant they be made to disappear if he and the generals are serious. Just remember that babur had cannons and Ibrahim lodi had " elephants " . The pattern is all too familiar once again.

Anyway Jane bhi do yaron .Hum 105 mm aur mortar bhai se kaam chala lenge .

@del - Interesting to see how this goes. Still feel that the ghost of Bofors haunts successive governments.
